Who Are We?

We are a team of six writers, each of us involved in writing about finance in some capacity.

SVB or Silicon Valley Blogger is the founder and blog editor for The Smarter Wallet. She has worked at a variety of Silicon Valley companies as an IT engineer, and as a software development manager in a few technology startups. But after 18 years, she has up and left her nine-to-five job to get into online content publishing (aka “professional blogging”) full time. She also writes for her other personal finance blog, The Digerati Life.

Millie Kay G. is the nom de plume of a freelance writer who started her personal finance writing journey at The Dollar Stretcher.

Jacques Sprenger is a former college professor in psychology and English, a counselor, and now a teacher for challenged students. Jacques will be sharing his views on personal finance and self-development, which are topics that he is passionate about. One other interest he greatly enjoys: politics.

Stacey Doyle is an experienced freelance writer who enjoys blogging about a variety of financial topics, including credit issues, saving money and achieving financial independence. She also has a background in law, real estate and banking.

Emiley Thacker is a full-time administrative assistant, part-time fledgling freelance writer, and part-time student living in Upstate NY. With an educational background in accounting, Emiley has recently become interested in personal finance and looks forward to sharing what she learns as she learns it. Her ultimate goal is to replace (or exceed — yes, that would be nice) her primary income with work that can be done on a part-time, pajama-clad basis.

JT works with SVB as a co-editor of this site and helps with supporting the online community we have here.
