Search For A Job In A Pink Slip Party

by The Smarter Wallet on May 18, 2009

If you’re facing a job layoff, here’s a welcome and refreshing idea. For those job seekers on the hunt for a new job, attending parties where you can network while relaxing a bit can be a neat way to make those professional connections. This is one way for prospective employees to let their guard down a little and feel less stressed while still checking out job opportunities and meeting hiring managers. This new phenomenon has been labeled a “pink slip party”.

I’d certainly much prefer these social events over a crowded job fair, especially when they freely offer refreshments as part of the experience! So if you’re interested in networking for purposes of getting a job interview, here’s an interesting site called PinkSlipParty.com where you can check out these new-fangled social gatherings. They offer resources, networking schedules and job listings for the displaced professional.

This is definitely one of the most creative ways of finding a job that I’ve come across!
